"Black Panther" the movie is a worldwide sensation, set in a ficticious African empire called Wakanda, which is the inspiration for the exhibition "Welcome to the Real World of Wakanda: The Royal Empires Of Black Africa" a collaboration between the Harlem Heritage Tourism and Cultural Center and the Genesis Museum of International Black Culture. "The Royal Empires of Black Africa" exhibition consists of sculptural objects, photographs and artifacts, hailing from the following African empires: Egypt, Ife, Benin, Ghana, Mali and the Congo from the 13th - 20th century.


This exhibition "Welcome to the Real World of Wakanda: The Royal Empires Of Black Africa" will lend reality to the fictitious portrayal of "Wakanda" in the box office gauganaut "Black Panther"


Dates of exhibition May 15th - June 14, 2018. 7 days a week.
